The Apple Tree presents Rachel's Dom Biography!
~Dominic Monaghan the hunky hobbit "Merry" with the brown hair and blue eyes being the tallest of the four hobbits at 5' 7" was born on December 8, 1976 in Berlin, Germany because his father was in the military. (His dad is a teacher now and his mom is a nurse)
~This means he more than likely has dual citizenship in Germany and England as his family is from Manchester, England.
~Dom is a huge Manchester United fan (that is a British soccer team for those of you not in the know)(I just don't get it I don't why not the Gunners huh? ~Jo).
~He is the second son of dad Austin and mom Aureen. They lived in Germany for 12 years so he speaks fluent German and has the uncanny ability to imitate any accent he hears much like Jo (one of my best mates)
~At the age of 6 Dom was introduced to the wonderful world of Star Wars(yay!)and his life was changed forever he became engrossed in films.
~Dom got his agent after doing a play in England.
The agent then got Dom his break out role in the BBC tv series "Hetty Wainthrop Investigates" mmmm Dom Tushie..... sorry got sidetracked for a moment. He does a shower scene.
~At the time he got the role Dom was at the Sixth Form College studying English, Drama, and Geography. He left college after the second season and planned to return but hasn't had the opportunity yet.
~He has also been in Hostile Waters, This is Personal: the Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper, and most recently a 30 min short the Insomniacs Nightmare (This is where he walks round in a towel the whole bleeding time yum ~Jo) .
~Whilst cavorting about half naked you can see his LOTR Tattoo (elfish symbol for Nine) on his right shoulder
~Of course he has done the three Lord of the Rings movies starring as Meriadoc Brandybuck.
~Dom read the novels at the age of 15 and as a child when his family would drive back and forth from Germany to England they would listen to a books on tape version of the Hobbit, so he was well versed in Tolkien's world.
~To prepare for the role he read his diaries that he had written at the age of 18-19 to get in touch with the angst he felt then.
~For the movies he was forced to smoke and being a non-smoker this would make him sick so to keep from vomiting after every take the poor boy would have to drink a glass of milk.
~Well he may not smoke (yay) but he does drink, he admits to getting a little drunk upon finding out he got the part. At the time he was in France filming Monsieur Renard.
~Currently he and Billy Boyd (Pippin) are writing a script about two scuba divers that they started during tea time being stuck on set up in the 20 foot anamatronic Treebeard they made for The Two Towers.
~Also rumor has it he is rooming with Sean Astin's brother.
~Dom drives a 1989 BMW convertible that he bought off of Sean actually.
~Dom is an avid environmentalist (YAY him! sorry ~Jo), this is why in all those pics he has TREES written on his hands (he wants to bring awareness to deforestation).
~If you think that the way to his heart is through food (yes he is single) you had better be up on Thai cooking and how to make good sushi.
~While in New Zealand he and Billy frequented cafe's (the one they were at in the tv special "Return to Middle Earth" was called Fidels) and brushed up on their pool skills, such competitive little boys.
~Dom also conquered his fear of heights there thanks to Orli who drug him bungee jumping .
~Dom loves surfing, films, music, fashion, insects, and the ladies.
~As far as music goes he seems to love the great classics: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie [wonder if he likes Labyrinth?(YAY Me Too ~Jo)], Duran Duran, Coldplay.
~When it comes to actors he loves Robert Deniro.
~Ok i know this is far too much info, but one last side note he kept some feet and a ring from the set of Lord of the Rings(But he wont give any to Billy ::tear:: ~Jo).
~Dom at one point in time was a short order cook apparently and is a very good cook
~Dom wears boxer shorts not that I comprehend why people want to know this stuff but hey I saw it in an interview so here is the info.

*~*What We Want To Know*~*
Well we know Lij and Dom visit their fan sites and hopefully he'll stumble upon this one and answer a question for me. The washer story....is it true? The story goes that Sean Astin's daughter (she is really little like 6 or something) met Dom and fell in love she proposed to him and since the washer she gave him as a ring didn't fit he wears it on necklace(aww bless isn't that so sweet). I have seen it in pictures but do not know if the story i have heard is true.
